A back office is a term that refers to the important tasks that run a company, mostly unseen by customers. The technology of a back office in a store will pull up all product information upon the scan of that item. Information can be item name, description, product sku, price, size, promotional price, how many of these items are in the store, etc.
The simple answer is YES! However, if your scanner is simply just tied to your POS terminal and you do not have a back office that shows you your cost each time products are delivered, the answer is probably NO! Retailers who do not coordinate their ever-changing costs to their sale prices almost always see a decline in margin when scanning. That is because, as your costs rise, your retail prices do not adjust accordingly. There are many advantages to scanning, but only when you have all the tools, not just some of them.

You can command your sales at any time. First step to take might be to make sure your computer has an internet connection. If you see a yellow warning sign on login, your internet is not connected. Click on the screen and follow the instructions, or try restarting your computer.

Make sure you have selected an item from the drop-down menu. If there is no item selected, ePB® will keep default to the detail edit screen.
To locate an item on your price book, go to the SKU Search section of your price book. Then select the store/price book where your item is. On the left side of the screen, select the parameter that you will use to locate the item (by Description, Department, Price, SKU or Change Since)
Look up the item that you want to check using our SKU search. Once you have located the item, right-click it to go to the Main Edit Screen. Then, click on the History button that is located on the menu.
The Item History section will list all the changes that have been made to the item in question.
